Gamification Strategies: A Characterization Using Formal Argumentation Theory

چکیده

Abstract Gamified software applications are omnipresent in everyday life. The idea of using game design elements non-game contexts to engage and motivate tasks has rapidly gained traction the human–computer interaction psychology fields, but scarcely artificial intelligence (AI) research area. In this paper, we propose a agent perspective gamification solve two specific problems: (1) reactive that designers have for those gamified affordances, i.e. visual cue ( output ) is only triggered by user interaction, (2) lack formal treatment software, where strict characterization behavior as done AI, guarantee information-based follows intended goal software. Our contributions presented paper taxonomies affordances based on type information every element communicates, agency capable; framework formalize decision-making process agents; (3) stories argumentation theory dialogues. We exemplify our with platforms healthcare financial literacy fields.

Gamification in formal educational settings 1 Games and Learning: Gamification in formal educational settings

The purpose of this exploratory literature review on games and education is trifold: First, it serves as the final project report for Social Informatics 668 and presents research which indicates a social dimension of learning (while being engaged with a game), which in consequence directly relates to this class and requirements of this report. Second, it introduces gaming and Gamification withi...

Using Argumentation Strategies in Automated Argument Generation

During argumentation, people persuade their audience using a variety of strategies, e.g., hypothetical reasoning, reasoning by cases and ordinary premise-to-goal arguments. In this paper, we offer an operational definition of the conditions for pursuing these strategies, and incorporate into a Bayesian argument-generation system a mechanism for proposing applicable argumentation strategies, gen...

A Formal Concept View of Abstract Argumentation

The paper presents a parallel between two important theories for the treatment of information which address questions that are apparently unrelated and that are studied by different research communities: an enriched view of formal concept analysis and abstract argumentation. Both theories exploit a binary relation (expressing object-property links, attacks between arguments). We show that when ...

The role of Gamification in Knowledge Sharing using Grounded Theory and MAXQDA Qualitative Modeling

Background and Aim: Today, knowledge is essential to the survival and success of any organization. Given that they are the people who create, share and use knowledge, an organization cannot effectively use knowledge unless its employees are willing to share their knowledge and attract knowledge of others. On the other hand, Gamification involves combining the usual mechanisms in the games with ...

A Logical Account of Formal Argumentation

In the current paper, we re-examine how abstract argumentation can be formulated in terms of labellings, and how the resulting theory can be applied in the field of modal logic. In particular, we are able to express the (complete) extensions of an argumentation framework as models of a set of modal logic formulas that represents the argumentation framework. Using this approach, it becomes possi...
